Fancy a French Apéro?

The apéro (short for apéritif) is a long-standing French tradition: pre-dinner drinks with a light bite to eat to whet the appetite. And we're not talking crisps and a bowl of peanuts. Lightly battered courgette, (beignet de courgette) is a favourite in Corsica, olive cake is my mother-in-law's speciality, cured hams, melon, merguez sausages with a dijon dip, flavoured cheese cubes....all washed down with a Ricard (Stephane's favourite pre-dinner drink), a home-made orange wine or a glass of port. Yes, port is an aperitif in France!

Fancy an apero?

A recent spate of new restaurants in Paris is turning this concept into a stand-alone dining event – small plates of food to share, accompanied by a carefully chosen selection of wine. So keeping in line with our authentic French ethos it would seem amiss to not offer the same in Nottingham.

We've been busy creating a selection of very French light bites, a sort of French Tapas, that will not only whet your appetites but make you want to stay for dinner, ready to launch on June 25th with our new Summer menu.

Stephane has also been searching for some original guest wines to supplement our existing wine list and accompany the new Tapas menu, and he has found some beauties!

So roll on Summer, for some long, extended apéro's at French Living's outdoor terrace....(or downstairs in our atmospheric cellar if our British weather doesn't play ball)

We can't wait!!
